War Memorial Wedding: Emma & Brady

War Memorial Wedding: Emma & Brady

Emma and Brady’s War Memorial wedding was perfectly, totally them. In fact, their whole day was a microcosm of what makes them such a great couple. From golfing in the morning despite torrential downpours to Streetza Pizza to end the evening, they made all the choices that were true to themselves and rolled with whatever challenges came their way as the day unfolded. In the end, it was an entire family and community of friends that finally gathered to celebrate Emma and Brady making their new family official.

The guys enjoyed every moment of their morning, perhaps especially when they had to make a hair-raising escape from the biblical rain that the ignored sirens warned us about. This is a group that thrives on a little excitement. The same could be said for the ladies, who’s morning was spent at Emma’s parent’s house and was abuzz all morning with hair, makeup, kids and a healthy amount of ululating.  Emotions ran wild as the day everyone has been anticipating for years was finally here.

The St. John Cathedral ceremony did nothing to stem the tide of emotions. Seeing Emma and Brady’s daughter Violet coming down the aisle to her dad was particularly moving. Seeing her running around during the ceremony was hilarious. She could not be contained and not a soul was bothered by that. After stops at Kimpton Journeyman Hotel and Camp Bar in the 3rd Ward, we settled in for the reception at the War Memorial.

The dramatic rain had a way of coming out of nowhere and disappearing just as quickly all day.  While that may sound like a hardship, especially with an outdoor cocktail hour, the War Memorial is set up to give plenty of opportunity to watch the storm and stay completely dry at the same time!  Once the rain stopped, it gave us an incredibly reflective ground to work with which was a wonderful asset to the photos.

At the reception, Sound by Design made sure the dance floor was constantly packed with guests dancing to a blend of Lebanese classics and all of today’s hits. During the few moments when everyone was catching their collective breath, there were very moving toasts with the highlight being Emma’s dad’s words.  Rounding out the contributors, Irene’s Catering made sure everyone was well fed, Bloom Floral made sure everyone was stunned upon entering the room and The Cake Lady made sure everyone’s sweet tooth wasn’t forgotten.

This War Memorial wedding was everything Emma and Brady hoped for and we wish them years of happiness together.

We love this Simon and Garfunkel quote on the wall of the Kimpton Journeyman Hotel!  “…I have a photograph.  Preserve your memories, they’re all that’s left you.”  Perfect!
