Milwaukee Engagement Photographer: Leslie & Nick!

Fate brought Leslie and Nick together as sophomores in a shared dorm at Milwaukee’s Marquette University, so why not go back to the beginning for their engagement session? We always ask couples if there is any place that’s especially significant to them. We can find a way to make just about any location beautiful, but if there is added emotional depth to the imagery, that’s always a great element to include.

We were all especially excited to see this engagement session since it was Mandie’s first in the Front Room family. After 10 years of mutual admiration between us and her, she joined the team this past fall and it’s been a marriage (pardon the pun) made in heaven. Her work ethic and personality fit in perfectly around here and now we have some new images to bring it all together! Her use of light and architecture is top-notch. Most importantly, Leslie and Nick had a blast and look amazing!

It was a warm enough day that Leslie and Nick could ditch the coats for a few minutes here and there. We always tell people that winter engagement sessions are a great excuse to find a cute coat and scarf set. But, it’s nice to unbulk if possible too!

Ideally, we like engagement sessions to span from the beautiful afternoon light through sunset and into the gloaming hour. That gives us the most variety in imagery. It is also pretty representative of the range of looks we are going for on the wedding day. On the wedding day, these shoots get broken up into ten minutes here, ten minutes there. But at an engagement session, we can spend a solid 90 minutes sometimes working the light as it fades into night.
