Milwaukee Engagement Photographer: Kelsey & Matt!
After years of being a Milwaukee engagement photographer, we have hit every blip on the spectrum of formality: from abandoned buildings to penthouse condos, from jeans and sweatshirts to gowns and top hats, from stoic to playful. Kelsey and Matt’s attire fell squarely on the fancy side of the spectrum, but as a couple, they are solidly in the playful range. The goal for us is always as multi-faceted as the couple. There are questions we are asked routinely before an engagement session (What to wear? Where to shoot?) and others that are never quite vocalized but are internally nagging (How do we pose without feeling like we are posing?) that all get answered through this process we go through together.
The most vital aspect is getting to the point where a couple feels confident and comfortable in front of a camera. For some, that concept sounds daunting. For those couples, it is even more more important to do an engagement session. Kelsey and Matt never had that issue. They were in naturals right from the start. That said, hearing our little tips along the way and seeing the stunning results of this session set them up for an amazing wedding day!
Anticipating their autumn Westmoor Country Club wedding, they thought it would be great to go urban for the engagement session. To us, “urban” itself has a whole range of possibilities. For Kelsey and Matt, “urban” evoked class, architecture, and the Riverwalk as opposed to graffiti, rusty surfaces, and brick walls. We can find anything, so we make sure to clarify such things with each couple as we are coming up with a plan.
We ended the session at Mason Street Grill, their favorite downtown spot. It’s always great to include locations of significance if possible. This was our first chance to make some very personal art for Kelsey and Matt and we were really happy to be able to include a location that means so much to them.
