The Milwaukee Public Museum is not just the place where Corinne and John had their wedding reception. They actually had a date there the day they got engaged! It’s a pretty dreamy story.
The pair visited the Milwaukee Public Museum, taking in the history and leisurely strolled through the exhibits. In particular, they visited the beloved Streets of Old Milwaukee and absolutely loved it! Little did Corinne know, safely secured in his front pocket was an engagement band. But Corinne was left in the dark for a little while longer as the two went for a drive.
They had made plans to go to dinner near their future apartment, which was no coincidence. Corinne asked to drive by their future home to which John obliged. He surprised her and asked if she wanted to inside, even though they weren’t moving in for another month. Inside, there were twenty four gorgeous red roses and a note he had written days into their relationship. The note had said, “I think I’m going to marry you someday.” She turned around and he was on one knee.
And she said yes – of course!
Their wedding day was just as beautiful as their love and their story – but just a little snowy! The two wore grins the entire day though that never faltered and only grew when they were together.
Their love is a very special thing that we don’t take lightly mentioning. John almost buzzes with love for her and she radiates it for him. Even at a glance, you can see that it was the best day of their lives, through their smiles, laughs and shivering.
It had been snowing all morning, blustering and snowflakes circling up wards with a gust of wind. The sky was blanketed in clouds in a somewhat grey fashion. During their ceremony, Corinne’s aunt lead the prayers of the faithful and as the words, “those who have passed” echoed through the church, the sun poured in through the stained glass, scattering all across the room. An audible gasp passed through the crowd.
Corinne’s mother passed away shortly before the ceremony and she wanted to let her daughter know that she definitely was there, witnessing them profess their love.
The rest of the day was magical too, but certainly more silly. They chased each other away from dinosaurs and snuggled up in ice caves. And of course, they wandered the Streets of Old Milwaukee, rings on hands and smiles beaming. Congrats you two!
