Milwaukee Wedding Photographer: 5 Poses for Brides!

Weddings are a day when every bride wants to look her best. The dress, hair and makeup are huge components that are researched for months to make sure the right choices are made. Equally as important as these aspects is having a photographer that can make sure the angles and lines are all as flattering as they can be. We are big believers in the benefits of a natural approach to photography, making images that feel real. That approach is balanced with keeping an eye on the details and giving our couples guidance. We want to make sure they look as good as they feel on a very special day.

Here we have put together some examples of do’s and don’ts when it comes to posing. These tips will help you create length and space, emphasize curves and look relaxed. Below are examples with a model on the left demonstrating the wrong followed by the right way to pose and a real bride on the right executing the pose to perfection. The red lines indicate the kinds of lines you want to avoid. The green lines show you the successful adjustment. You can see there is not a huge shift in body position but the difference in results are stunning.

Scroll all the way down to see a few bonus examples of successful poses from wedding days. If you can get comfortable with these concepts, you will feel more confident on your wedding day and you will love your photos that much more. If your wedding day is the first time you’ve stepped in front of a professional camera, keep in mind it’s hard to do something right the first time you try. When you only get one chance, it’s that much more important to be prepared. Practice these moves!  Have your fiance shoot some test shots! It could be a fun pre-wedding activity.

Better yet, have us shoot an engagement session and get some real time in front of our cameras. The benefits are immense!
