Milwaukee Engagement Photographer:  Caitlin & Aaron!

As a Milwaukee engagement photographer, it’s a rare circumstance when the first time we meet a couple is at their engagement session.  However, with Caitlin and Aaron planning their Milwaukee wedding from San Francisco, this was the first chance we had to have a face to face convo.  Indeed, the first time we spoke, it was a conference call that united all three coasts (East, West and Lake Michigan).  It was also one of the best, most connected first conversations we’ve had with a couple.  They were way more focused on the experience they were looking to create than package inclusions and references.  The list of questions they had were not found on a blog or in a magazine.  They were from the hearts of these two brilliant, charming, empathetic kooks.

The reason they were in the area at all was to attend a friend’s wedding in Madison.  With their schedule set, it was up to us to suggest a location that would give us interested engagement session options and get them from Chicago to Madison in time for the wedding.  Looking at a map, that left us with Kenosha, Lake Geneva or Elkhorn as possibilities.  Once we realized that Mike’s Chicken and Donuts could be worked into the plan, Kenosha it was!  This is a place of legend that were anxious to check out and it didn’t disappoint.  Part sports bar, part hipster paradise, there is something truly delicious for everyone here and the office heartily enjoyed the treats we brought back.

Getting out of our normal engagement session radius is always invigorating.  On the way into town, we noticed a lot of interested possibilities in metropolitan Kenosha.  After loading up on donuts and coffee, we retraced the breadcrumb trail and hit all the hot spots.

Note the subtle “Affair With Hair” sign above Caitlin and Aaron’s heads, with a couple of letters akimbo.  When we parked just beyond this building and Aaron said, “Please tell me we are going to Affair With Hair!” we knew this was a match made in photographic heaven.
