Milwaukee Wedding Photographer: Jenny and Andy!

Jenny & Andy’s Intimate Wedding at Swig!

Many times couples call us and tell us they are not having a traditional wedding and they don’t need much out of their Milwaukee wedding photographer.  When we dive a little deeper into the kind of work we do and the kind of experience we provide, their eyes open wide and they come to a realization: they’ve stumbled upon artists that happen to be wedding photographers.  All of a sudden, we are energetically brainstorming about how our unique vision can interpret their nontraditional day.

Such was the case with Jenny and Andy.  Indeed, they only had about 2o guests and no wedding party.  Little did they know those are some of our favorite circumstances!  They initially thought there would be no dancing (even though Andy is a musician) and maybe a couple of toasts.  As it turned out, we were treated to the sweet sounds of Andy’s music as background music for their dinner!  The toasts that were made were either planned and from the heart or shot straight from the hip.

It’s always great to hear directly from the bride about her experience.

“We were so happy we decided to have a small wedding.  It gave us a chance to really spend time with everyone who was there and made the day very special and memorable.  I will also say that we get a big kick out of Eron’s guerrilla photography style – crawling through the reeds and the mud to get a perfect shot (it’s totally worth it).  We also all had an awww moment at the end of the night when my cousin’s 4-yr-old son ran up to give Eron a hug as he was leaving. I guess he made an impression on him as well!  :)”

St. Sebastian is such a welcoming and beautiful church in which to get married.

The day was exactly what Jenny and Andy envisioned:  pledging their undying love for each other and enjoying an amazing meal surrounded by those they love most.  When we hear couples say it won’t be a typical wedding day, our ears perk up.  That means they are putting some real thought into how they want this once-in-a-lifetime experience to go.  They are not planning a day around what others think is important, but rather making sure all the choices they make reflect their values and the character of this new family they are creating.

Swig is a great place for an intimate wedding group.  Their private room upstairs is perfect for about 2o people and the food is amazing!  It’s also nice to have the 3rd Ward right outside the door for photos.

Our work thrives on the real.  Jenny and Andy gave us plenty of that on this day (as did the instant blizzard!) and we are grateful and honored that they chose us to frame their memories.
