When you think of destination weddings, the common connotation is Mexico, the Virgin Islands or Europe. However, Dana and Drew opted for a nontraditional approach to the the destination wedding concept – good old Milwaukee. Being from Chicago, a quick hour car or train ride North provided a great change of scenery perfect for a late summer wedding. But the main draw for a Milwaukee wedding was the Villa Terrace Decorative Arts Museum. Once a lovely private residence, the ninety-four year old museum provides a unforgettable ceremony and reception venue. Nestled on Milwaukee’s Lakefront, the Italian Renaissance beauty is a quiet and close escape to the city.
A sweet ceremony officiated by Milwaukee’s beloved Derek Mosley and a great father of the bride speech, there were lots of little details that stood out as favorites for their wedding day. Dana and Drew narrowed it down to two – them tying the knot and the food. “Food was most important to us as wedding food is universally mediocre, so we wanted to wow people. So, that was a big deal to us.” We’re glad that their wedding day went so well and we could be a part! Congrats!
