5 Urban Wedding Venues in Milwaukee!

Between our seven photographers we cover nearly 100 weddings a year. The majority of those are in the Milwaukee area. While we get to a good variety of venues, there are some that pop up on our calendars on a regular basis. The styles run the gamut, from classic to rustic.

These are some of our favorite urban venues in the Milwaukee area.

The Historic Pritzlaff

The Historic Pritzlaff building can be appropriate for just about any wedding. With a number of rooms that range greatly in size and each with their own “blank slate” kind of quality, any couple can find a home here. Indeed, we’ve had weddings with a guest list topping 300 that have used nearly all the spaces for their day and others that were under 100 and used one of the more intimate spaces.

Turner Hall Ballroom

Turner Hall Ballroom is probably the space in town with the most unique combination of history and rock and roll. It is a current concert venue with the most charming dilapidated feel to it. It’s both classic and contemporary and, for the right couple, can make you feel like the rock stars of your own reception.

Cuvee

Cuvee, one-time open to the public champagne lounge, is now strictly a private event space. A long, narrow room and bar, it has the cream city brick and hardwood floor motif that makes it a classic urban Milwaukee space. Located in the heart of Milwaukee’s Third Ward, it is the upscale version of urban that exudes class.

The Atrium

One of the newer venues to the Milwaukee area, The Atrium was opened in Shorewood in 2017 by the Sound by Design crew as they expanded into the venue business. Like everything they do, they did it right. They maintained the character of the raw space they took over but also blended modern touches of style into the decor. And the rooftop garden is amazing!

Black Swan

Black Swan has carved an elegant niche out for themselves in the heart of downtown Milwaukee. They have a unique space in a classic building that lends itself well to upscale affairs and parties. What better spot for a wedding! The bonus is they have easy access to the Milwaukee Riverwalk where cocktail hour can happen and couples can sneak away for photos!
