Bat Mitzvah Photographer: Jordan!

Apr 23, 2019 | Families | 0 comments

A Bat Mitzvah is infused with all levels of taking stock. Parents are thinking back to their child’s earlier years as well as their own Mitzvah ceremony. At the same time, they can’t help but think about all that lies ahead of their new young adult. This phenomenon goes double for grandparents. The one who may be least aware of it is the Mitzvah themselves, who are typically more conscious of expectations than historical significance. As a result of all this context, the Mitzvah story is a rich one to tell.

And all that is before we even get to the party!

The day started at Congregation Shalom with portraits and a pre-ceremony rehearsal. While we would rather photograph the actual Bat Mitzvah ceremony, it’s against rules. Also, we do have a lot more freedom to go wherever we want to go during this casual time. Also, as nerves build leading up to the actual ceremony, these moments are precious.

The party was in downtown Milwaukee at Black Swan. Matheau Recht from Luxe Events coordinated the event and helped come up with the New York theme that was carried out everywhere from signage to MetroCards to a custom dance floor featuring the Statue of Liberty.

These kids had a blast! The adults did too. This was a party people will be talking about for ages.
