Milwaukee Portrait Photographer: An English Tea Party!
Many times the life a Milwaukee portrait photographer is spent chasing a child from here to there and hoping they pause for a moment to give you a chance to focus your camera on them. Agility and reactiveness are key qualities for a pursuit like this, rather than enacting an artistic vision that was in any way pre-conceived. Once in awhile a different sort of family comes our way, a family of grace, style and poise. Or at least a family looking for those qualities in their photos, which can be a fun challenge. If there is anything we embrace, it’s a photographic challenge to enact someone’s vision.
The theme was English Tea Party. The patio at Lake Park Bistro was chosen for its genteel and shaded qualities. Everyone was dressed the part. Hats were properly askew, bowties were tied and all hair clips were in place. All we need was for two kids to be proper little English angels for a few moments. Those moments happened! They may have been interspersed with many other moments, but, in the end, the moments happened and this themed portrait came together! After many years of being a Milwaukee portrait photographer, we have learned that kids will only give you what they want when they want to. Patience is the key to them finding their place in front of our cameras and letting their unique personalities shine (above). There’s no feeling in the world that compares to the moment a child gives you the cooperation you’ve been silently praying for so you can make their mom’s dream come true.
There was something very timeless about this B&W image (above) and it was a lot of fun to play around with this concept. Truth be told, it was pretty awesome to see this whole family come together in their themed wardrobe.
