Jenny and Pashanth’s marital festivities were too fun, they had to split it up into two days!
The first day was their Hindu ceremony. Vibrant and bold, it was definitely a highlight of their wedding! Their saree and kurta were custom made, perfectly fitting their vision of the day. Prashanth’s entrance was one for the history books. A car blasted music, bumping all the way to the temple, everyone was dancing up a storm in the street. The groom showed off his dancing skills on top a beautiful horse, which was not to be forgotten – dressed the the nines and adorned with a feather. It was such a fantastic start to a joyous two days of ceremony and celebration.
Their Hindu ceremony was incredibly gorgeous and full of powerful moments – like the kana dhaanam! But it was not without fun, as during the vasantha madhava pooja, Jenny found the hidden ring (three times!) and the pair showered each other with turmeric and rice.
Lidia left the temple afterwards, excited to see what the pair had up their sleeves the next day.
DAY TWO – MILWAUKEE ART MUSEUM WEDDING
The next day was a brisk October day, but it was apparent from Lidia’s entrance at the Westin Milwaukee that she was in for another lively day celebrating their love. Much like with their saree and kurta, Prashanth and Jenny chose to have their second outfits custom made for them. With a secret date stamped into Prashanth’s collar on their exact wedding color and a dress that was literally made for Jenny and showed it, they were definitely ready to wow their Milwaukee Art Museum guests.
They were goofy and wore their love like a badge of honor, which left Lidia grinning and tearing up behind her camera at points (the ceremony with their vows? Prashanth was definitely not the only one that cried.)
It was really a pleasure though to have two days to be there and witness the most important moments of a couple’s lives. You spend a little bit more time with them, you get to go through things together and bond. Jenny offers as her best advice for couples planning their own weddings, “Choose vendors you will get along with. You spend more time when them on the day of than your guests!” And dancing through it all, Lidia was grateful to have that extra time to spend and learn their story because she got along so well with such an amazing couple!
It was such a dream to photograph both of their days at the temple and Milwaukee Art Museum!
