Milwaukee Engagement Photographer: Abby & Sam!
Abby and Sam had a great time exploring Lake Park on Milwaukee’s east side with Lidia for their engagement session. We love doing engagement sessions with our couples because it gives them a chance to get comfortable with the idea of being in front of the camera. As you may have noticed, these two didn’t need much help getting comfortable together. That’s always a treat for us. All we are ever really looking for is for a couple to be themselves and somewhat playful with each other. For Abby and Sam, that came very naturally and it was a really fun afternoon for everyone.
A lot of times couples ask us about multiple outfits and locations for engagement sessions. We are up for just about anything, but it is also totally valid to keep things simple and just make it an experience. We pride ourselves on being able to come up with different looks simply through varying the composition, lens selection, posing and lighting. After all, on your wedding day, those are all the tools we have to work with and, in a lot of ways, we like for the engagement session to be a preview of that experience. It allows couples to really relax on their wedding day knowing exactly what to expect.
Just wandering around the park, Lidia was able to work with the sun and against it. She used trees, the waterfall, the bridge and lighthouse. In order to take advantage of the lighthouse, she went with a silhouette look. This was the best way to use the light in that situation and it gave Abby and Sam a look they hadn’t had during the shoot yet. That’s the key to our approach to all this: how can we make the most of this situation and come up with the biggest variety?
