Milwaukee Wedding Photographer: Bonnie & Bryan!
The life of a Milwaukee wedding photographer usually has us checking our calendars a good 6-18 months out for fateful dates in the future. Interestingly, a trend we’ve seen growing in the last couple of years is couples booking a photographer within a couple months of the wedding date. While that may sound terrifying to some out there, not so for Bonnie and Bryan. They officially booked Lidia for their wedding literally the day before the wedding. It doesn’t get much more extreme than that, but it’s all the same to us. The size of the wedding, the lead time going into it, the formality or lack of it…we love all of them. None of those factors affect the way we interpret a couple or a family and the emotions they experience and display.
To add some context, Bonnie and Bryan were less interested in a wedding than they were in just being married. To that end, they had a very simple ceremony at Harbor House with only Bonnie’s dad and two family friends (one was the florist and the other was the officiant) in attendance. Then they all enjoyed a lovely dinner together. So, not quite as scary as finding a photographer the day before hundreds of people are gathering, but it’s amazing to us how close these photos came to not existing at all.
Bonnie got ready at her parents home. Having lost her mother just a month ago, it was a bittersweet process.
It was so touching and lovely to have her dad help her put on her mom’s heirloom necklace. Of course, the memory of her mother was close at hand at all times. In fact, she wore her mom’s wedding ring, as well!
This dramatic bridal portrait Lidia came up with stopped everyone in the office in our tracks. It’s so stark and moody!
Grant Park is always beautiful, no matter the season or the state of leaves. For Bonnie, it was especially poignant as she spent many hours as a child walking these woods.
