It’s not every day you have a wedding filled with subtle (or not so subtle, like a giant bat symbol ice sculpture) references to their favorite pop culture songs, shows and comic phenomenon. It’s even more rare when it’s blended with the Pfister Hotel’s style – one of the oldest and most elegant hotels in Milwaukee. But somehow, Steph and Tyler pulled it off without a hitch.
One of their favorite films is Little Miss Sunshine so it only made sense to have a song from the soundtrack play as the wedding party and parents walked down the aisle. Steph and her father walked down to a tasteful cello rendition of “May it Be” from the Lord of the Rings credits, setting the mood for a moving and powerful ceremony and an apt choice for exchanging rings. And my personal favorite touch is their speciality cocktail which they named after their cat, Shadowfax, which is a sneaky nod to the lord of the horses.
Their day had so much personality and unique character to it that made it so fun. It was a wedding but it definitely had their spirit and was reflective of their tastes, interests and sense of humor (A Game of Thrones song playing during the reception? Amazing.) which we love seeing couples do.
It was heartwarming every step of the way – from their first look where both of Steph and Tyler’s mom’s sneaked a peek from the top of the Pfister’s staircase and cried, custom cufflinks made for the groom by his best man and a wonderful jazz band inviting the newlyweds to dance.
We’re so glad we were there to witness your day and your love. To many more years of happiness and as J.R.R. Tolkien put it, “I’m glad to be with you, here at the beginning of all things.” Congrats!
