Marketing Campaign Photography: Goodwill – Community Impact Report

Our work doing campaign photography has taken us far afield and introduced to a whole host of inspiring people. The shoots we’ve done for Goodwill‘s Community Impact Report have been amongst our professional highlights. People think of Goodwill as a source for good deals on vintage clothes. But the ways they support their community are often unheralded.

This shoot actually took us all the way to Chicago. This fact greatly influenced the way we approached the shoot. Goodwill definitely wanted to highlight the impact they were making on this large community. This mandate informed the very quick scouting we did once we were on-site. We made sure to include the Chicago flag in part of the shoot. And, despite the frigid weather, we made sure to get outside and include the downtown Chicago in the background. Our ability to efficiently assess an environment and determine the best way to use it to our ends is a big strength. It allows us to really embrace out client’s vision and push our shoots above and beyond what they were expecting.

This subject’s story was inspiring for so many reasons, but one of the details you can’t see in the photos is that she is hearing-impaired. She is also non-verbal and doesn’t know sign language. These factors are just some of what she has had to overcome. However, these limitations are also a big part of what makes her who she is. She is an incredibly positive and expressive person and we were thrilled to be able bring out those qualities in the shoot.
