Saz’s South Second Wedding by Evenement: Shirley & Cris!

Shirley & Cris’s Saz’s South Second wedding reception held no major surprises, which is what you’re looking for in any wedding reception. Normally a surprised bride is not a positive. However, Shirley threw caution to the wind and let Cris plan their entire ceremony, keeping every detail under wraps. Early in the planning process they discussed ceremony possibilities and she said to Cris, “Surprise me!”  He took that very literally and once the idea of a “surprise ceremony” took hold they both ran with it.  That set up a completely new situation for us 20 years into our career:  a ceremony reveal for the bride. There couldn’t have been a better choice than Ramhorn Farm. “We are so proud to have had our ceremony there”, said Cris.

Thankfully Cris did an amazing job, helped in no small measure by the talented crew at Evenement Planning.  Together they found the perfect fit for their intimate wedding ceremony. Ramhorn Farm is rustic and homey – everything Cris knew Shirley would love. It was also the perfect compliment to their neo-urban Saz’s South Second Wedding reception. The professionals that helped them pull it all together were also on their A-game.  Evenement Planning set the tone and brought in Impressions by Esther for flowers, Sound by Design for lighting and entertainment; Simma’s for cake and even a caricature artist from ACA Entertainment!  Of course Saz’s Catering made sure no one went hungry and even brought out their amazing potato skins and cheese curds for a late night snack!

In all, the day was everything they expected and hoped for: a small intimate ceremony; a fun dance-filled reception; a balance of nature and urban; and even their dog, Lambeau, was particularly entertaining all day.  Shirley and Cris took a unique and beautiful route for their wedding, befitting of the unique and beautiful couple they are.
