Welcome to our latest innovation: remote commercial photography. We have been toying with ways to make commercial shoots more efficient for our clients for years.
The first big innovation was shooting tethered so art directors in the room could see live the results of the shoot. This revolutionized commercial shoots in a couple ways. First, it allowed us to immediately receive feedback from the client and tweak the shoot on the spot. Second, it meant we could have final imagery chosen before they left the building. No more downloading and emailing back and forth for choices.
However, it was the pandemic that pushed this all to the next level. This entire experience is now available remotely. We have the ability to invite art directors to view and contribute to the shoot without even having to leave their office. One of the biggest impediments to efficiency in the past has been the simple challenge of balancing many schedules. This new approach opens up a lot of doors to allow all the decision makers to be present at once.
