Boerner Botanical Wedding: Christine & Jason!
Christine and Jason both grew up in Bay View on opposite sides of Humboldt Park. However, they didn’t know that or each other until they both started working at Target. From there, the sparks flew and now they like to remind each other from time to time that, “You can find anything at Target… even your future spouse.”
When Christine and Jason contacted us about their Boerner Botanical wedding, it was important to them that “a wedding photographer that captures moments as they happen, not someone that just takes staged shots.” Like us, they prefer the more natural side of imagery. To us, that speaks to prioritizing the experience and remaining present on a very emotional day filled with anticipation.
Christine and Jason were not planning a very formal day, option instead for a more garden party feel. Planning for everything to take place in one location and opting for that location to be Boerner Botanical Gardens ensured that outcome.
Often times, at a one-location wedding, we encourage a first look. It makes the experience much more streamlined and makes the best use of our time. For Christine, there were even more benefits. “I didn’t get nervous until I put my dress on, but calmed down as soon as Jason and I had our first look. If you’re the anxious type like me, I definitely recommend doing a first look. It helped me immensely.”
Christine made this beautiful jewelry for the whole wedding party! How she found time to do that AND plan a wedding is anyone’s guess!
A great way to really make your ceremony personal is to have a close friend officiate the ceremony. It adds a level of emotion to the very heart of the reason everyone came together: because they know, love and support you.
