Being a photographer, we are always being exposed to interesting little (and sometimes big) stories that give us insight into the lives of others. This day, I was at the Cintas Corporation to photograph the award ceremony for one of the national winners of the Carhartt Tough contest, John Irish, a Wisconsin truck driver/roofer. He was a humble man that never thought he would win this contest. He was encouraged to submit his story and, to his astonishment, got the call that he was one of the winners.
Neil actually photographed John a few months ago creating a portrait that ended up being the main component of the plaque John received. It’s pretty cool to know that this toughest of the tough guys will have a Front Room portrait on his wall to celebrate his toughness.
