Behind the Gold: Honoring the 2025 Girl Scout Gold Award Recipients in Southeastern Wisconsin

Each year, a select group of Girl Scouts earns the Gold Award—the highest honor in Girl Scouting. This year, we helped share their stories.

In 2025, we partnered with Girl Scouts of Southeastern Wisconsin to produce a video that highlights ten Gold Award recipients. These girls took on major challenges, created sustainable change, and developed real-world leadership skills in the process.

To earn the Gold Award, each Girl Scout leads a project that addresses a root cause in her community. The project must be sustainable, measurable, and completely girl-driven. As a result, it takes time, dedication, and vision.

Over two production days, Front Room Studios interviewed each of the ten honorees. We listened to their stories, filmed their interviews, and captured how their projects came to life. The girls spoke about their goals, the obstacles they faced, and how they stayed committed to making a lasting impact.

Because the video focuses on personal stories, it also reveals something deeper: the character behind the award. These Girl Scouts are thoughtful, curious, and determined. They don’t just solve problems—they build long-term solutions.

Moreover, the video celebrates the courage, confidence, and character at the heart of Girl Scouting. It reminds us what leadership looks like when it’s rooted in purpose.

What Is the Girl Scout Gold Award?
The Gold Award is open to Girl Scouts in grades 9–12. Each girl identifies an issue, researches it, and creates a project with long-term impact. Through this work, they build skills in leadership, public speaking, project management, and community engagement.

Most importantly, they take ownership. Every part of the project—from planning to execution—is led by the Girl Scout herself.
