It was an honor to be called on by the Bartolotta’s to capture the anticipation and excitement of having Presidential candidate, Governor Mitt Romney, at the Grain Exchange last night, on the day of his primary election in Wisconsin. The Grain Exchange is one of our favorite wedding venues in town and that is exactly how we are used to seeing it…decked out in stunning wedding decor or put together for elegant corporate events. The contrast last night was staggering with the room set up with press bleachers, cameras (yes, the big boy news corporations were on hand with their oodles of equipment…it was kind of fun to see other people who had to carry in more equipment than we did…not something we are used to!)
As always, we were beyond impressed by the calm composure of the Bartolotta’s who put on an amazing event with very little notice and carried everything off without a hitch, despite the chaotic atmosphere that naturally goes along with the press, police, secret service and big name political figures running around (not to mention an event with guests to keep happy and entertained!).
We found out just before the speeches started that we were granted permission to have a short photo opp with Governor Romney after the event. It was a pleasure to capture a moment of the Governor with the Bartolotta’s. While he took a moment to sign a few campaign signs that were given out during the event, he mentioned what a wonderful venue the Grain Exchange had been. We definitely agree Governor!
