Grain Exchange Wedding: Carly & Taylor!
Carly and Taylor’s Grain Exchange wedding was everything they hoped it would be. The morning was relaxed, the first look emotional, and the sky was clear as a bell for their pictures in the park. All that happened before they even got married! With family traveling from all over, many from the Philadelphia area, it was important to Carly and Taylor to be able to spend time with their guests and really enjoy their afternoon and evening. By doing a first look at the Hilton Garden Inn and hitting Lake Park for photos, we were able to get all the family and wedding party photos done before the official start to the ceremony. By the time we got back to The Grain Exchange to hide them away for their ceremony, their nerves were relatively calm and Carly and Taylor were ready to be married already!
We love shooting a Grain Exchange wedding in any situation, but when we have a wedding and reception there it’s one of our favorite. It means all the guests have to do after the ceremony is stroll downstairs and start enjoying the delicious Bartolotta’s hor d’oeuvres and cocktails. It also means we can bounce back and forth between documenting the cocktail hour, the details in the ballroom as they come together, and be able to sneak the bride and groom out for some photos whenever the light is right. Easy for the guests, maximum photo flexibility for us. Everyone wins!
Their reception was a blast. The toasts were from the heart and ranged from touching to roasting, the way all good speeches do. After an amazing Bartolotta’s dinner and dessert by Classy Girl Cupckaes, Carly and Taylor shared their first dances followed by Carly and her dad and Taylor and his mom. The Grain Exchange is a beautiful place for these highlight dances, framing everyone so regally. Once the dance floor was officially opened, there wasn’t a time it wasn’t packed thanks to Sound by Design and really enthusiastic guests. Everyone really enjoyed our Photo Booth as you can see in this Moving Picture Show!
