Lake Park Bistro Wedding: Katie & Derek!

Planning a Lake Park Bistro wedding from Washington D.C. was a fun challenge for Katie and Derek. While it’s never easy planning a wedding from the other side of the country, it becomes a great excuse to come home a little more often as you make decisions.  Once they decided on the classic St. Monica’s church and Lake Park Bistro, they also hired Lydia from M Group as their coordinator to make the whole process a little easier. The Gregory and Company flowers were also gorgeous!

Katie and Derek were more interested in spending time with their friends and family than investing a lot of effort in a theme for their wedding or debating linen choices. Their wedding wish list read like this: a simple church ceremony, beautiful photos in the park, heartfelt toasts, and raucous dancing. There is one other element to their day that was really important to them.  “The food.  All of it.” Katie explained.  So in addition to the impeccable service and incomparable location, it’s safe to say Katie and Derek chose to have a Lake Park Bistro wedding for the gourmet catering that Bartolotta’s is known for.  Lest you think Katie and Derek only appreciate high end food, Katie adds, “Our favorite place to go out is a local bar that has the best nachos and fried oreos of any place we’ve ever been.  And it’s not like we haven’t done our research!”

That is why we were such a great fit for them. We have a keen appreciation for the high-end and also the not-so-guilty pleasures in life. We also revere experience as much as photos when it comes to a wedding day, balancing finding the moments as they happen and picking our moments to make something happen.
