Milwaukee Engagement Photographer: Ann & Jay!
Ann and Jay had their engagement session a couple weeks ago and with little opinion as to where it would be, they were thrilled to put themselves in the hands of a professional Milwaukee engagement photographer and let the chips fall where they may. We kept our eyes peeled and the perfect location was stumbled upon and a wonderful evening ensued.
Who knew that when we suggested starting at McKinley Marina it would warm the cockles of Jay’s photo nervous heart? Sometimes, things just come together so well it’s hard to believe.
After making the most of the light we had at the marina, we went searching for more sun. That journey took us to the area behind the Summerfest Grounds for a really cool, different view of the Hoan bridge and the lake. Of course, the sun and clouds kept playing games with us, but that’s the nature of engagement and wedding photography: make the most of what you can when you can.
In the end, the only place to go when looking for a setting sun is up. That led us to Ann and Jay’s amazing balcony which not only was still bathed in sunshine, but also is a place very special to them where the spend a lot of time together. That’s about all one could hope for in an engagement session setting.
Sealing the whole engagement session deal was the bonding we did over a beer at the newly opened Camp Bar in the Third Ward. We found a mutual appreciation for many things, not least of which was the Avett Brothers show we were all attending the following week! As a Milwaukee engagement photographer, it’s such a treat getting to know our new couples and a great bonus when we find we have more in common than the photos that brought us together in the first place.
