InterContinental Milwaukee Wedding
Timing can be a funny thing. We had been talking with Amanda & TJ for a while, trying to set up a time to meet each other and chat about their Milwaukee InterContinental Wedding. We finally had a date on the calendar but the couple’s niece decided to make her grand entrance into the world on that very day. Of course we sent them off to meet her with our best wishes but were very excited when we found a new date to meet because this couple is awesome. Their day was beautiful and there was so much love surrounding them all day. We are pumped to share some of our favorite shots from their Collection of Art!
Love Story
“We met through mutual friends (bridesmaid Regina Johnson) and the rest was history. We love enjoying summers in Chicago. (We are a split Bears/Packers couple.) We enjoy live music and good eating (enjoy exploring new restaurants). We also like to travel – and want to do more of that!” – Amanda
Chicago Proposal
TJ proposed the day before we left for a trip to Cancun (12/6/14…just over 6 years from the date we met). We were walking our dog and I was complaining about how cold it was and couldn’t understand why he wanted to walk down by the lake so bad. Little did I know he had a good friend camping out there to capture the moment taking pictures (with the Chicago skyline in the background)!” -Amanda
When it came time to plan their nuptials, the couple had a lot of options and finally settled on the InterContinental Hotel in Milwaukee.
“We live in Chicago, but I grew up in Fond du Lac, so Milwaukee was a nice middle point!” -Amanda
Wedding Photography
When we first met Amanda and TJ, we asked them what their thoughts were about wedding photography. It’s fun to look back on the initial thoughts and wishes for wedding day after the big day has passed. Neil did a great job of fulfilling the couple’s desires and more!
“From our wedding photographer I’d like someone that I’m comfortable with and who helps keep the day on track (I don’t want to worry about timing/being late). We’d like someone who is fun and who helps us feel comfortable – makes images look natural – we like pictures that don’t look posed.” – Amanda & TJ
What a cake!
Amanda & TJ chose eggplant with gold accents for their wedding palette. The Cake Lady definitely took that inspiration and ran with it. Hands down, this is one of the most beautiful and unique wedding cakes we have seen! It completely belongs in the ballroom at InterContinental.

Party Hardy
The guys at Sound by Design did it again. Not only by washing the room in gorgeous purple lighting that fit the couple’s decor perfectly, but also putting on a party like you would not believe. Everyone danced late into the night and had a great time!
