Mulberry Lane Farm Wedding: Alyssa & Jaran!

We have always wanted a Mulberry Lane Farm wedding and Alyssa and Jaran finally gave us an opportunity to experience this rustic haven! With a variety of different farm buildings and spaces, there were so many options we almost couldn’t contain ourselves! It is really a wonderful place for a more down home type of wedding which was perfect for Alyssa and Jaran. Their priorities of having everything in once place and having a comfortable and casual ceremony and reception for their guests were completely fulfilled at Mulberry Lane Farm.

After photographing Alyssa’s bridal accessories, the time before the ceremony quickly expired as last-minute preparations were accomplished, bridesmaids finished getting ready, and Alyssa put the finishing touches on becoming a bride.  All this happened with a leery eye toward a foreboding sky that only erupted for a few scattered moments before the outdoor ceremony was scheduled to start. Someone was looking down at these two and made sure no drama took place to disrupt their day. It’s entirely possible that someone was Jaran’s dad who passed away years ago, but whose presence was felt in the quiet moments of the day. When Jaran’s mom helped put his dad’s watch on his wrist, it was one of the most moving moments we have had shooting weddings.

The emotions this day ran the gamut, but every tear was either accompanied or quickly followed by a hearty laugh. The only thing bigger than the muscles on some of these guys was the size of their hearts. The ceremony was officiated by one of the groomsman who despite his claims at nervousness, was a charming host for Alyssa and Jaran’s nuptials and quoted some meaningful bible passages with the best of them. He also made sure to ask if anyone had any objections to the marriage.  Of course he quickly followed that up by pointing out the legion of large men, including Alyssa’s dad and Jaran’s tough-as-nails mom, anyone would have to go through to express an objection. No one had any objections.

The rest of the afternoon and night were filled with heartfelt toasts, an amazing BBQ dinner from Village Hearthstone, an enthusiastic dance floor, and a DIY cigar bar.  Most importantly, Alyssa and Jaran got to spend time with everyone that came and they themselves had a blast.
