Pritzlaff Wedding: Laurel & Douglas!
Laurel and Douglas first experienced the Front Room way at Douglas’s sister Dani’s wedding a couple years ago. When they contacted us about their Pritzlaff wedding we were thrilled to get a chance to work with this awesome family again! Grooms aren’t known for their strong opinions on wedding choices so it was particularly validating that we made such an impression on Doug that day a couple years ago.
For Laurel and Douglas, the most important details of their wedding were personal and from the outside, may not be noticed. From the shoes Doug’s dad gave him as a gift to the sign Laurel gave Doug with their family’s new name to the guest priest whose presiding over their ceremony meant so much to them. This day was about that which means the most to this couple: friends, family, and faith.
The ceremony took place at SS Peter and Paul Church and was an emotional experience for all in attendance. After that, we were off to some industrial locations with Laurel and Douglas with the wedding party in tow before settling at Pritzlaff for the remainder of the evening. Touching toasts and raucous dancing bookended a trip to the Pritzlaff rooftop for epic skyline photos of the couple. As the Pritzlaff building continues rapid development, access to the roof we’ve enjoyed so much for the past few years may not be realistic soon. Every time we are up there now we cherish the moment and the dramatic images since we don’t know when we will be able to get up there again.
Laurel and Douglas are a great couple and a perfect fit for the Front Room style. They’re totally into each other, trust us and our guidance, and they’re more about the genuine experience of the day than anything else. We find that when a couple can relax into their experience rather than trying to make it into a preconceived vision, they have the most fun and their photos happen very naturally as the day unfolds.
