Pritzlaff Wedding: Louisa and Andrew!
For Louisa and Andrew, their Pritzlaff wedding was more than a list of to-do’s to be checked off by a deadline. It was a the culmination of a 4-day celebration that gave them ample time to enjoy the company of all their favorite people for one of life’s best excuses to party. As Louisa explained to one of the older couples at the wedding, “I hope you stick around for the dancing. It’s going to get…weird.” And it got weird in the most wonderful kind of weird we get to witness. Sound by Design did a great job from their perch overlooking the dance floor at the Pritzlaff of keeping the masses moving to the beat all night long. But long before that, Louisa and Andrew gleefully pledged themselves to each other at St. Hedwig in a traditional but personal (and at times hilarious) ceremony. This was followed up with a trip down memory lane, hitting the beautiful parts of Marquette’s campus as well as Murphy’s, the favorite college hangout for this entire crowd.
” [My] favorite moments would definitely be the ceremony, which was sentimental and still fun, and hanging out at our favorite college bar in between the ceremony and reception with our Marquette friends. In all my college years, I never thought I’d be using the restroom at Murphy’s in a wedding dress!” explained Louisa.
This story wouldn’t be complete without a proper shout out to Shully’s catering. The Shully’s family have been lifelong friends of Louisa’s and they somehow exceeded their already high standards as they pulled out all the stops for this very special day. Everyone who succeeds on a long term level in this industry takes their role at a wedding very personally. While this is a business, it is a business that provides such a personal service that it is impossible to do this job very well without putting a lot of oneself into the effort for that couple that night. When any of us get to do what we do best for a friend, it is extra special and Shully’s reinforced that.
We are honored that Louisa and Andrew chose us to tell their story and, through that experience, created a brand new friendship.
We found a dreamy way to interpret Louisa’s beautiful dress from Miss Ruby as well as the rest of her details at Hotel Intercontinental Milwaukee.
A special treat was discovering St. Joan of Arc Chapel happened to be open when we stopped by! What a beautiful space!
There’s nothing like the roof at Pritzlaff when you can hit it right at sunset. What a view!
“We loved surprising everyone with our first dance, which we spent over a month working on with Susan Sperl from East Towne Ballroom. Louisa loved giving her sister a father-daughter dance, since her sister was married in a small courthouse wedding and never had one. Andrew loved having a packed dance floor, thanks to Sound by Design. We cannot say enough about Shully’s and how special they made the day with our delicious food and late night nacho bar! Every single part of our wedding was amazing!”
