Shullys Watermark Wedding: Jennifer & Eric!
When Jennifer and Eric were planning their Shullys Watermark wedding they learned plenty along the way. They are more of a dog loving, ultimate frisbee playing couple than a couple of party planners. But they knew they wanted their wedding day to reflect their character and that provided a great base for their plans. Any traditions they encountered that didn’t seem genuine to them went by the wayside. They had a Best Lady and Man of Honor as their opposite sexed siblings were the perfect choices for those roles. Something borrowed? Something blue? Something old? Something new? Jennifer combined all those traditions into one by repurposing her grandmother’s sapphire necklace into a beautiful set of earrings! They chose to have a first look so they could enjoy their guests after the ceremony without interruption. They eschewed the garter and bouquet toss in favor of a frisbee toss!
One tradition that completely fit their vision was having a pastor preside over their ceremony. Pastor Steve Robertson has been a very good friend of Eric’s family since he was in diapers and it meant the world to all of them to have his voice guide them through their wedding ceremony. His homily comparing unconditional love to caring for pets was spot on for this couple and reflected his deep understanding of who they are. The message certainly resonated with them as Jennifer and Eric are as in love with their dogs, Layla and Karo, as they are with each other.
This laid back, sweet couple found the perfect fit in choosing a Shullys Watermark wedding. At Shully’s Watermark they found a beautiful location perfect for a ceremony and reception with enough green space to throw a frisbee around and enjoy their time with guests. We are honored they chose us to tell their story.
