Turner Hall Wedding:  Gina & Cody Are Finally Together!

Gina and Cody have been shuttling back and forth over Lake Michigan for years just to be together.  With Gina in Wisconsin and Cody in Michigan, they did their best to support the local ferry business as their relationship cruised along.  As they started planning their Turner Hall wedding they could finally see their new life together over the horizon.  Their day started at Advent Lutheran Church in Cedarburg, a lovely church whose pastor is not only a dear friend of ours, but one of the most genuine and supportive souls we know.  Weddings for us are always like joining a family for a day.  That feeling is even more tangible with the shared connections that seem to happen more and more over the years in our community.

Gina and Cody are one of the sweetest, most accommodating couples with whom we’ve worked.  They were happy to just be getting married and follow our lead when it came to the photos.  They only had one request:  stopping at the Von Rothenburg Bier Stube in Germantown.  Since we were traveling from the Cedarburg ceremony to Turner Hall wedding reception, it was the perfect opportunity to make some wedding memories.  Even though it was a little more crowded than expected we still couldn’t resist the live music on the patio and the amazing field out back!

The cocktail hour and reception were everything we have come to expect from a Turner Hall Wedding.  Turner Hall is one of our favorite venues in town.  Photographically it’s nice to have both the balcony and the stage from which to shoot.  There are a ton of opportunities for different kinds of images with really interesting visual detail. As always, their team is extremely gracious and helpful and the character of the space is unforgettable.

Even though Gina had worked in the bridal industry for many years herself she says, “Cody and I couldn’t believe how fast the day went: everyone was right!  We would encourage every couple to build in at least one opportunity (besides designated photo times), even for only 5 minutes, to spend alone with your new spouse.  For us, we decided to have a sweetheart table in lieu of a head table.  This allowed us to enjoy our meal as much as possible, getting to check in with each other and really enjoy looking out into the room and taking in all the love that surrounded us!  The moments we were able to steal away here and there to be with each other were undoubtedly some of our favorites.”

Gina and Cody put together an all-star team of vendors that made sure a reception chock full of slideshows and surprise performances went off on schedule and without a hitch.  Chef Jack’s provided an amazing meal, flowers were provided by Alfa Flowers, the cake was by Delicately Delicious, rentals were from Canopies, and Sound by Design provided lighting and  kept the party going.  Stone Manor Bridal helped Gina find her dress (designed by Fiore Couture), and the bridesmaid dresses (designed by Bill Levkoff).  Their beautiful rings came from Thomas A. Davis.
