Villa Terrace Wedding: Jen & Geoff!

When Jen and Geoff starting talking to us about their Villa Terrace wedding, they described their vision like this: “Our wedding is going to be more like a cocktail party with our closest family & friends. We want it to be relaxed, enjoyable, and memorable for everyone.” All of that was music to our ears. “Relaxed” and “enjoyable” are probably our favorite words to describe the style of a wedding reception. When you choose to have a Villa Terrace wedding, most of your style choices are made for you, as that venue has so much character in every nook and cranny.  We’ve had many ceremonies and sometimes just portrait sessions at Villa Terrace, but it’s a special treat for us to spend a whole day and night there.

In addition to her new best friend, Pinterest, Jen had plenty of help with the details along the way. Her ever present groom and her mom also put together all the flower arrangements for the day!  When she did call in the pros, she made the right calls all around:  The Shoppe (who we seem to see at least once a month this year!) were in charge of hair and makeup, Miss Ruby found Jen’s stunning dress and the bridesmaids dresses and Saz’s Catering made everyone’s mouths water. Jen and Geoff even brought in Peter Scortino’s bakery for everyone!

The emotional moments of the day are what really stood out. While getting ready Geoff had an emotional reaction to his dad’s cufflinks and handkerchief which was touching. During the ceremony Geoff’s sons and the family dog Ruby were involved, and there was also a sweet sand unity as a part of the ceremony. There were 6 small jars of sand representing both moms, both kids, Jen, and Geoff. All 6 of them poured sand into a big jar. This coming together of people and love and grains of sand was representative of everything Jen and Geoff’s Villa Terrace wedding was all about: intertwining lives and moving forward together as a family.

 

The gardens at Villa Terrace are spectacular during the day, but seeing the building light up as the sun sets is equally stunning.
