Whispering Springs Golf Club Wedding
Sometimes photographing for a photographer can be a bit daunting. For this wedding it turned out that the groom, Jared, is a very talented Chicago-based photographer. His Whispering Springs Golf Club Wedding to Katie was so laid back and fun that the art just flowed naturally. We love this couple and their style- they are both classically beautiful and a little bit funky. A perfect fit for each other! Amanda had an outstanding time photographing their day. We are thrilled to be able to share some of our favorite moments from their day with you!
Love Story
Some love stories are just easy. Boy and girl have a mutual friend and in this case that friend’s name is Dave. Dave introduces boy to girl. They find out that they enjoy punk rock shows together. They fall in love. They get married at Whispering Springs Golf Club and live happily ever after in Chicago. See, easy!
Wedding Details
We like to find out what details a bride and groom are most excited for. After all the planning that goes into a big day, it’s fun to see what things have stood the test of time and are truly exciting for the couple. And boy do we love this response!
The groom’s custom-made wedding ring is one of the details the couple pointed to as their favorites from the day. It’s easy to see why. Not only is his ring one-of-a-kind, but it was made by a good friend of Jared’s, adding even more meaning to an already special piece!
Personalized Wedding Ceremony
Short but sweet doesn’t mean that you can’t plan to add in personal details that transform a ceremony from ordinary to extraordinary. Katie and Jared took this to heart. Katie’s brothers walked her down the aisle and then one of them stayed at the altar to officiate the ceremony. Having a family member or friend perform the ceremony is one of our absolute favorites! Then, to include someone special to Jared, they had a good friend of Jared’s play a guitar that had belonged to Jared’s grandfather. Talk about a packed ceremony full of emotion and love!
Wedding Colors
“We thought plum would be nice for fall.” We love the palette selected for this wedding. The accents of white, black, and silver perfectly complement the plum and bring together the decor. We love that they thought outside of the box and didn’t just go with standard orange, red, and yellow for their fall nuptials. It was beautiful!

Advice from the Couple
“Don’t focus on every tiny detail. Make it easy and about the two of you and family. Not about extra details that will be forgotten.
We went into the wedding planning process not trying to stress the little things. We were happy we did a first look because it eased some of the pressure for the rest of the day. We found it best to just relax and let the flow of the day take over. We had confidence in our vendors that they would help make everything flow seamlessly and they did. We were really happy with how everything turned out.” – Katie & Jared
