Wisconsin Lake Country Wedding: Carly & Max!
After 20 years in this industry, we’ve had the honor of documenting multiple events for the same family several times. Whether it is a sibling’s wedding of a former bride or groom, or a newborn shoot for a Front Room couple it is always cool to see everyone again and document another chapter to the story of their lives. Carly and Max’s Wisconsin Lake Country wedding was the ultra-rare opportunity to shoot a wedding for a former senior portrait client! That’s how long we’ve known Carly. In fact we’ve done family portraits for her whole family over the years. When we learned that she and Max were getting married we couldn’t have been happier for her and we were thrilled to be the ones to document this latest development in their lives!
What a stunning development this turned out to be! Carly and Max set up quite the day for themselves. The ladies spent their morning at Hilton Garden Inn Downtown while the guys were at Kimpton Journeyman Hotel. With their ceremony happening at Old St. Mary’s Church, they wanted to make sure each side of the wedding party was in the area. After a traditional and moving ceremony, we made a quick stop at Carly and Max’s house to document them on their wedding day in front of their first house together. It’s these personal touches that really make a collection of images a collection of memories as the years go by.
The driving force of the afternoon was getting out to their Wisconsin Lake Country wedding reception where Clearwing (Max’s family’s company), Canopies, BBJ Table Fashions, Impressions by Esther, Coqui, Touch of Whimsy and Saz’s had transformed Carly’s grandparents horse farm into a magical wedding reception venue for the night. It took a team of this magnitude of professionals to make this happen and it was absolutely perfect. There was even a smoke machine to add drama to Carly and Max’s grand entrance!
Carly and Max were almost as excited to see the tent in all it’s glory as they were to spend time with all their guests and dance the night away. After some epic toasts, dancing the night away is exactly what everyone did, helped in no small part by the sweet sounds of the Michael Walters Orchestra. While there really wasn’t a moment when the dance floor wasn’t packed, the highlight of the night was when one of the guests pulled Carly up onto a table to take the dancing literally to another level.
Carly and Max took on an ambitious vision and put together an amazing day, which is completely fitting for this couple. They are a strong team together that can accomplish whatever they set their minds to. We can’t wait to see what’s next!
