For Dana and Tony, a truly chill couple, opting for a destination wedding was a no brainer. The fact that Tony does videography for weddings for Sound by Design and Dana does hair for her fair share of grooms for Groom for Men also pushed them into wanting to do something completely different. Of course, being in the industry made planning something like this much easier. Their friends are also their vendors! Tiara from Events to a T coordinated the wedding. Torie from Sound by Design stepped out of his DJ booth to make sure Tony had a video of this beautiful wedding. And then there was us.

Many couples who choose to have a destination wedding settle for the resort photographer. The result generally ends up being a fairly standard and small set of uninspired images. To really have a story as beautiful as your memories of a destination wedding, it’s pretty vital to bring along your own photographer. This can get a bit dicey depending on your the rules of the resort, but we have found creative ways to work around any restrictions.

Focusing on actually telling the whole story of the experience is one aspect of what we do to justify the idea of flying us in for a wedding. But there’s so much more! Seeing the locale through fresh eyes inherently relates to the way the couple and their guests are seeing the place. Also, after all is said and done and you’re back home, having a local photographer to work with on prints and albums is a real benefit. Finally, if there is a language barrier at all in your destination, having a photographer you can easily communicate with and relate to is very vital.
