Kimpton Journeyman Hotel Wedding: Kaitlyn & Bryan!
Kaitlyn and Bryan had one unifying vision for their Kimpton Journeyman Hotel wedding: to make it their own. Bryan says, “From the beginning we knew we wanted something original and something that told our special story: we chose a venue that was newer to avoid a cookie cutter wedding, we chose to do memories instead of table numbers so people could understand our story a bit more and this also presented a way to have people get up and mingle to see other table’s stories, and Kaitlyn knew she wanted a dress that was unique and new. A wedding is about the couple and their love story: We highly recommend making it about you. It’s your story from the dress to the dancing; enjoy yourselves and pick a planner, friend, or in our case dad, that knows how to tailor to your individual needs. We started with the big things early and let everything else fall into place, never losing sight of our goal to create our own unique story.”
This story would not be complete without Kaitlyn and Bryan’s words about Amanda: “Amanda and Front Room were absolutely exceptional. There’s no doubt she had the perfect vision for us in creating our engagement photos and wedding day memories. For this reason, Front Room for us was a no-brainer and she made sure everything was perfect.”
Kaitlyn got each of the men their monograms imprinted on sterling silver cufflinks to commemorate the occasion. Her dad’s differed with an “I loved her first” saying. Similarly, Bryan got each of the girls a pair of real pearl earring studs. And her mom embroidered bZk into matching handkerchiefs for the bride and groom. These are their favorite wedding details.
Kaitlyn’s handsome dude was truly happy and relaxed as he prepared for his bride.
Kaitlyn’s Hayley Paige gown was one of her favorite details. Not only was it simply gorgeous, it was also a 2018 design that wasn’t technically available yet. When you are a bride as sweet as Kaitlyn, sometimes asking the right people with the proper amount of batted eyelashes will get you exactly what you want. What takes this part of the story to another level is the fact that Kaitlyn’s dress was a posthumous gift from her grandfather.
Of course, what perfect dress is complete without the perfect shoes to go with it? Enter this fabulous pair of blue Badgley Mischkas! If you look closely at the image of her shoes above, you will see her grandmother’s sapphire and diamond ring resting between the shoes. From head to toe, Kaitlyn was able to look her best while representing both her grandparents in a very special way.
The rooftop terrace at Kimpton Journeyman is a perfect spot for a first look. Even a little rain wasn’t enough to dampen Kaitlyn and Bryan’s spirits this day. It did shorten their photo session in this location a bit, but not before Amanda captured some beautiful images.
In honor of Kaitlyn’s Jewish heritage, they worked some traditions into this very personal ceremony where emotions were running high.
“Instead of using table numbers, we chose important memories to us and wrote stories for each table. We knew we wanted something different and we had never seen nor heard about this before so we did our best to execute ‘us,’ and our guests were impressed,” explained Kaitlyn.
Praise from Kaitlyn for one of her favorite vendors: “Sound By Design kept the vision we discussed alive; the different genres of music, the random requests for the ceremony processional, recessional, and grand march were executed perfectly, and most importantly we didn’t have to worry about a timeline or potential sound issues because they know their stuff.”
