Villa Terrace Wedding: Ashley & Joe!
People ask us all the time for our craziest wedding stories and about our “Bridezillas” and, the fact is, we just don’t have them. Our couples are sweet folks that want to have a great day and come away with amazing art. Ashley and Joe are such a great example of that approach, which was clear as soon as they called us about their Villa Terrace wedding. This is Ashley’s advice to all future brides to help them attain the same status of the relaxed bride: “Start early and take your time choosing things. Don’t worry about the small things, most people won’t even notice.” We couldn’t say it better ourselves.
Their day started at Hotel Intercontinental Milwaukee, which is a wonderful place to prepare for a wedding. There is really nice light in the rooms and there is a great park across the street which is a great place for a first look! Doing a first look gave Ashley and Joe a chance to take photos in a few locations before arriving at Villa Terrace, where their ceremony and reception would all take place. When you are doing all your events in one location, this is a great strategy to get more variety out of your photos and streamline the rest of the day.
Villa Terrace is a really special place to have a wedding. It doesn’t work for more than 150 people or so, but for Ashley and Joe’s guest list of 120, it was perfect. This venue is so beautiful we have even had some couples rent it just for photos or getting ready. It’s always a treat when we get to photograph an entire day here.
The terrace overlooking the lake is beautiful, the courtyard is classic and the gardens are immaculate. When we get to be here for a reception too, everything just glows at night.
