Grain Exchange Photography – A Snowy Milwaukee Wedding!

It was a pleasure to spend the first real snowy day of this Milwaukee winter with Ashley & Mike capturing their Grain Exchange Photography. The couple and their wedding party began the day by getting ready at the Hilton Garden Inn  and  ended at the Grain Exchange providing the perfect settings for romance, snowy sparkles, and glamor. We know the day is going to be really great when the couple is as crazy in love as Ashley and Mike are. On top of that, they had amazing friends and family surrounding them who helped make the day fun and full of love for the newlyweds. It’s an honor to be a part of a special day like this and we are excited to share some of our favorite moments from their day. Congratulations again Ashley and Mike!

Getting Ready with the Girls

“While the girls were getting ready, we had several questions regarding the exact timeline of when we have flowers in pictures, etc… so we continued to ask Eron. We recognize he has been to thousands of weddings and he likely knew the details. He helped us through the getting ready process and we were able to prep the men as well with his tips!” – Ashley

First Look

“Some of our favorite memories were our first look picture. We were at the Hilton Garden Inn Lobby on the stairs, where Eron laid on the floor in front of the check in desk in order to take the perfect shot. Guests just walked around him to check in as they realized he meant business.” – Ashley & Mike

A Milwaukee Wedding Ceremony

Every wedding ceremony is special in it’s own way, but we especially love that Ashley and Mike were married by pastors that are good family friends. Since family is so important to these guys, it really fit.  Everyone was so close all day and the intimate feeling of the ceremony was multiplied by the gentle snowfall outside the church windows. So cozy!

Snow in Wisconsin

“With a November wedding, we knew we were taking a risk with the weather. It had snowed all morning and into the afternoon ceremony. We have several memories of the bridesmaids and personal attendant holding up Ashley’s dress and actually hiding behind it during photos. Eron would just ask them politely to move a little to the left or a little to the right so they weren’t in pictures!

We also had extra time between the ceremony and the reception where we stopped at the Milwaukee Ale House to warm up. The waiter at the Ale House announced us as newly married and we had a standing ovation as we walked into the Ale House that afternoon! Eron quickly scouted out the best shots, with a sunset shot on the patio, a few on the pool table, and with our personal attendant cleared the bar so we could get a group shot literally on the bar.” – Ashley & Mike

Unique Reception Entertainment

Ashley and Mike wanted to keep guests entertained throughout their reception so they found some fun and unique ways to do so. Activities that were fun for everyone, even those who might not love the dance floor including an artist creating a painting live during the reception. They  also had a Front Room Photo Booth for their guests to exercise their silly side. Part of what we love about our open concept booth is that groups can crowd in and get some great shots together.

Reception Schedule

“The reception went smoothly with Eron coordinating with the other vendors so that he wouldn’t miss any great shots. In addition, when we stepped out to take pictures outside on the river walk, the DJ didn’t play any special requests because he knew we were gone.” – Ashley & Mike

We loved that one of those special requests was their parent’s wedding song. It was a special and beautiful way to dedicate a portion of the evening to their parents. The below shot of Ashley dancing with her dad is one of our favorites of the Grain Exchange Photography we captured this season – how adorable are they!

Thoughts on Front Room from the Bride and Groom

“From the first time we walked into Front Room and met Eron, we recognized what a professional, organized, and calming group Front Room Photography was when it came to wedding planning. We were also excited you were just starting your photo booth package as well so we were happy to be an early user of the Front Room Photo Booth!

We appreciated the workshop you held that discussed timeline, posing, and other tips we had not considered. We also had multiple meetings with Eron where he really assisted with creating the timeline for our pictures, ceremony, and reception so we could take advantage of the best light of the day for our optimistic outdoor pictures in November.

The day of was perfect.” – Ashley & Mike

Late Night Beauty

For late night beauty with Ashley and Mike, we went back to their room at Hilton Garden Inn. It’s convenient location across the street from the Grain Exchange allowed Eron to get some photos with their reception venue in the background from their hotel room. How cool is that?

Advice from the Couple

“Our advice to anyone is to have a plan, but also let the day happen through Eron’s eyes. Also, leave yourself plenty of time so the planning is a fun activity and not stressful.

It was a great experience and I would recommend Front Room to everyone! We love our Grain Exchange Photography by Front Room!” – Ashley
