Milwaukee Portrait Photographer: Six Month Portrait!
As a Milwaukee portrait photographer, little gives us more joy than hanging out in the studio with a half year old! There is a sweet spot in that first year of life when expressions and personality are abounding but mobility is not. Contrast that with the year and a half portrait when mobility abounds but the ability to be reasoned with hasn’t quite set in and you can see the difference. Frankly, all ages come with their own fun set of challenges, but the six month portrait is a favorite.
Seeing Ashton again was a special treat unto itself. We first met Ashton’s parents, Laura and Ryan, when they hired us to shoot their Milwaukee Art Museum wedding a few years ago. It was equal parts intimate and fun and they cemented themselves on our “sweetest Front Room couples” list. When they let us know their family was growing, we couldn’t have been more thrilled for them. We love capturing all our families at all stages!
Six months is a wonderful time for one more set of bashful naked baby photos. As parents the world know, there’s nothing cuter than your baby’s butt, but (see what I did there?) the window to take those photos is limited. Take advantage of early adorableness as long as you can!
In the studio, we tend to keep things pretty simple. We love having a blank slate and to spend time mostly playing. That said, if there are personal and/or personalized gifts, accessories or toys bring them along! They could be a nice feature in an image or a source of comfort for the baby. Those types of meaningful elements are really adorable! They also mean the world to a grandparent when they see their special gift made it into the photos and onto their walls!
