Chicago Engagement Photographer:  Miriam & Jorge!

It’s a rare treat when Eron gets to be a Chicago engagement photographer for a night.  Thanks to Miriam and Jorge, he had that opportunity recently and they all made the most of it!  With a hired cab at their disposal, they were able to cover more ground in downtown Chicago than anyone could expect on a weekday early evening.

When discussing the plan for their engagement session, Miriam and Jorge told Eron the story of the proposal at Spiaggia on Michigan Avenue.  It was a perfect location to start the shoot.  There were a number of images from this portion of the shoot to choose from, but this one really stood out to us.  The light, lines and reflections of the wine bottles through the window lead the eye right to the happy couple.  Once there, it sees not only Miriam’s genuine smile at something Jorge is whispering to her, but also Jorge’s tender caress of Miriam’s forearm.  Spending the afternoon with this couple, Eron learned how tender and loving they are with each other and this image captures that perfectly.

The Chicago skyline is such a stunning and dramatic backdrop for portraits.  To make the most of this epic opportunity, Eron somewhat sheepishly asked if they would be willing to stand atop this wide railing lining the bridge over the Chicago River.  Without a trace of fear, Miriam and Jorge practically leapt to their perch, taking their places among the skyscrapers.

As the sun went down, Eron had one more idea.  After an afternoon of sensory overload with all the sights and sounds of a bustling downtown, he wanted one quiet moment for the couple.  One moment to let everything else blur out and for Miriam and Jorge to be the center of each other’s worlds.
