Built in 1995 as a warehouse for the Lange Company, the Delafield Hotel’s beginnings weren’t nearly as glam as they are now. Fast forward 11 years later and the 4 diamond luxury hotel was born. Equipped with a cool but comfortable decor and the fantastic restaurant I.d., the hotel is a remarkable option for any event. Located a short 30 minute drive from Milwaukee, the Delafield Hotel provides an easy reprieve from city life with its lovely grounds and quaint town, but the still maintains the sophistication of any Chicago hotel in a more peaceful setting.
The hotel also features three private event spaces that can accommodate gatherings of up to 250 guests for wedding ceremonies, receptions, galas, bridal showers and rehearsal dinners.

Tell me about your family & friends – what do you like to do together?: I like to spend time outdoors with family and hit up the pumpkin farm every fall!

What makes your team special?
Kim: I’m very proud of our strong team at the Delafield Hotel. Our turnover rate is very low and we have all worked together making beautiful weddings and corporate events for a long time.
Favorite trend you are seeing for weddings this year?
I love that couples are using rich, dark colors and textures. I love velvet and think it’s a great match for the sophisticated ambiance of Delafield Hotel.
One piece of advice for every bride or groom planning their wedding?
Know who is on your wedding planning team, and don’t let your vision get lost by allowing too many people to give their opinions.
What’s your favorite dish on the menu?
The salmon served with cabbage and a cauliflower puree. I’m also a big fan of the pomegranate pork tenderloin with sweet potato puree.
We are very proud of our event menu. We aren’t serving ‘banquet food,’ it is fresh, restaurant quality dining for your guests. The Delafield Hotel also employs their own pastry chef, so you can order a dessert table or even a whole wedding cake that will be made right onsite.

The Delafield Hotel offers onsite catering, guest rooms, indoor and outdoor ceremonies, valet parking, onsite gym, and rehearsal dinners and wedding and baby showers.
Fabulous features of the Delafield Hotel
The bell tower stands tall and proud at the front of the venue. At 5 stories high, the view is incredible and overlooks the quaint town. Luckily for the hotel’s couples, access is included with the venue, you only have to ask your wedding coordinator to take you up.
What is your favorite thing about weddings at the Delafield Hotel?
Working with the clients. I love developing a relationship with them over the course of the planning process and bringing their vision to life for their wedding day.
The Beauty
Besides the hotel’s decor, there’s plenty of perks to having your wedding at the Delafield Hotel. The surrounding area provides a close and convenient option to add variety to your wedding photos. From Lapham Peak and the fish hatchery to the central location of the hotel in town, there’s plenty of walkable areas to get the look you want for your wedding day.
But the hotel itself is worthy of its 4 diamond status. Gorgeous in every way, the rooms provide a wonderful backdrop for getting ready portraits or a letter reading video, full of great natural light. Its service leaves nothing to be desired and their food is amazing. We were gifted cupcakes with our interview and ever since, whenever the photos of Rebekah’s cupcakes pop up or are mentioned, we’re singing praises. One of our office staff even said, “I would have my own wedding there just for the cupcakes.” They’re that good!
