Milwaukee Maternity Photographer: Lauren & Alex!

It was a gorgeous October afternoon when Eron met Lauren, Alex and their dog at Trimborn Farm for some photos of their ever-expanding family. In case you couldn’t tell, Lauren is expecting their first child. Lauren wanted to get this shoot in a bit early in her pregnancy for a few reasons. First of all, the season was ideal and if we’d waited any longer, the weather could have definitely taken a turn for the worse. Also, she knew that as her due date neared, both physically and emotionally, she would feel less like having her photo taken. So, she opted for a “baby bump” look rather than a “I’m ready to burst” look.

Pregnancy can be such a physical and emotional roller coaster. Life is going to change forever soon and there is an unescapable and growing reminder of that fact. The thought of delivery can be extremely exciting one moment and filled with dread the next. Taking a break from that roller coaster to be present in the midst of all the anticipation can feel really rewarding. Having these images forever that bring you back to that time in life can be priceless.

If you’re wondering when and ideal time for maternity photos is, generally between 29-32 weeks is the sweet spot for maternity photos. It’s such a special time in life and making some art that captures the unique physicality combined with the emotional state is a great opportunity.

Lauren thought it would be adorable to contrast the tiny baby shoes with this sizable head.  She was right!

Trimborn Farm is a location we’ve used for weddings many times, but this was the first maternity shoot we had there. It’s such a cool spot with many options from nature to paint-peeling barns. And, if you happen to have a dog with you for your shoot, there is plenty of room to roam!
