MAM Milwaukee Event Photographer – Flourishes of Art in Bloom!

It is always an honor to be the MAM Milwaukee Event Photographer but Art in Bloom is an event that is near and dear to our hearts. If you have never been, make plans to go in 2017. The talent of the florists who make these temporary masterpieces that mimic priceless works of permanent art is really unmatched. The level of mastery and skill in the Milwaukee market for florists is a sight to be seen!

The Garden Club’s Art in Bloom Iron Designer Competition is one of the highlights of the event. Similar to the format of Iron Chef, these florists are given certain materials and a time restriction to make something amazing happen. We love it because we get to see art made in real time and the differences in the pieces made really showcases the personality and skill of each florist. After the time is up, the public is invited to vote to crown the winner. How fun!

MAM Milwaukee Event Photographer that knows how to showcase textures

One of our favorite things about each piece of floral work is the texture used by each florist to match the art piece they are assigned to. From soft fluffy to linear leaves to the texture of driftwood. There is so much to be explored in the floral world, beyond roses and carnations. And we love that these florists use so many different and unique materials in achieving their artistic goals! It’s one thing we love about doing event photography – we can do a lot to showcase the intent of the art we see.

Thank you to the Milwaukee Art Museum for putting on such an amazing event year after year. 2016 was the best yet and we can’t wait to see how everyone steps up to raise the bar in 2017!
