Milwaukee Engagement Photographer: Rachel & Al!
After many years of being a Milwaukee engagement photographer, we’ve learned that, as with most things in life, communication is key. When Rachel and Al took the time to sit down with us and chat about the engagement session plan, we came up with options that were unique to them and photogenic. Creating something personally valuable is always our goal and spending time together to grow our understanding of you as a couple is the way there. With Rachel and Al we learned their dog, Moo, was more than just an important aspect of their lives, but he made them family. We also learned that they were about to buy their first home together and that Al proposed outside Lake Park Bistro! With those emotional touch points identified, all we had to do was connect those dots with the light we saw along the way.
Many times, an engagement session represents the first professional photos a couple has together. For Rachel and Al this started out as effectively their first family portrait! Moo kind of stole the show so we left him behind after the first stop at their home. Can’t have him upstaging the bride!
We hit Hubbard Park for a bit, taking in the foliage and using their photographically irresistible tunnel. Then we meandered down to the lakefront making the most of the waning light and natural beauty. The highlight of the shoot (besides Moo’s cuteness) was definitely Lake Park Bistro. Rachel and Al had to suffer through literally being in the spotlight a bit as other guests enjoyed their fine dining. But they came through just fine and wrapped up their engagement session with a lovely date night at their favorite restaurant!
Wedding planning has a tendency to take over your life. It’s important to make time throughout the process to just be together and have dates. You’re all dressed up and just spent 90 minutes gazing lovingly at each other, why not use that as an excuse to get a date in? Makes sense to us!
