Milwaukee Event Photographer: United Way Kickoff!
The Milwaukee County Zoo hosted United Way’s 2016 campaign kickoff event and as always, it was an inspiring gathering of philanthropic powerhouses. As a Milwaukee event photographer for a lot of non-profits, we are often exposed to the most successful and benevolent people in our community coming together to make a difference. In this world, making a difference can sometimes feel unattainable. Before getting to the main event, many old friends had a rare chance to catch up. Getting all these motivated and innovative people in one room together can spark conversations that lead to action. Within the philanthropic/non-profit community, there is a delicate balance between dreaming and pragmatism that allows ideas to take shape and get accomplished. Spending time with those that have overcome so many obstacles to achieve so much makes most anything feel possible. That feeling is contagious and it is so gratifying to give back what we can to support the cause.
The highlight of the event was the reason everyone was there: to find out the 2016 campaign goal. That ambitious number came in at $60,125,000. While that may sound like a large number, these are the folks who can get it done. Not only do they know the right people, the passion they bring to the table make them the right people to inspire such giving from those that can.
Imagine how much good could be done by reaching that goal? United Way prides themselves on supporting a diverse array of non-profit organizations throughout the Greater Milwaukee and Waukesha areas. This approach allows them to pool their resources for many smaller organizations that may not otherwise have access to the same opportunities.
